Village Business: Handcrafted With Love

In this edition of Village Business we caught up with Val Reeve from Handcrafted With Love.

We asked Val how the business came about:

“Handcrafted With Love was founded 8 years ago. I started selling cushion covers on eBay but the demand for more items grew and eventually I opened a shop in West Yorkshire. The shop was doing well but I felt restricted so closed the shop after a year of trading to concentrate on doing more craft fairs and selling online.”

What are your most popular products?

“One of my top selling items has to be the tooth fairy pillows. They have even been popular as christening gifts, although not required for a number of years they always seem very popular as they are something different.  Recently though I started making children’s clothing which has proved very popular.  Items can be made to order.

Another new venture are the wooden plaques which I introduced a couple of years ago. They can also be personalised. New this year I started making deep box frames which again can be personalised. The family tree ones have especially been very popular and my best seller.

I also do small clothing alterations and also make and alter curtains and Roman blinds. I have worked in this field for over 25 years.”
