St Chad’s Church in Dunholme is to host a Community Day on Saturday, 28th January 2017.
Titled ‘A Light in the Darkness’, the day will seek to raise funds for St Barnabas Hospice and also for the St Chad’s Reordering Fund.
Beginning at 7.30am, the Revd Adam Watson will lead a short time of prayer, music and reflection, to be followed by coffee and croissants in the Old Vicarage.
Between 10am and 12noon there will be ‘The Light Cafe’, serving hot and cold drinks and homemade cakes, and then at 12noon there will be a duck race along the village beck.
Activities scheduled for the afternoon include ‘Light Moves’, a gentle, seated movement class (booking required; please see the flyer published below); a time to pause and be still; a Light Party for children; the lighting of a beacon; and an evening of light-hearted musical entertainment.
