The weather was on our side for the Dunholme Village Fete, the annual fete held in our neighbouring village of Dunholme behind the church. As ever, people flocked to the stalls, had icecreams and generally had a good time. The fete looks to have raised a lot of money, with a proportion of that going to St Chad’s Church.
The choir from St Chad’s Primary School were in good voice, as were some pupils from William Farr Secondary. Once again, the band that came were enjoyed by all. Of special note was the gymnastics display and the majorette who did a baton routine. The duck and boat races went well, most of the boats stayed afloat, and not too many people sat on wet patches across the bank of the beck.
All in all, an enjoyable day.
